| Bio: | I'm a recently graduated astrophysicist who occasionally works for NASA. Though I ironically usually prefer literature, philosophy, history, politics, art, music and film to astronomy. I plan to soon be a PhD student, work full time at NASA on support for human missions to Mars, and/or sit at home watching cartoons and getting high. I feel both of these plans are equally rewarding.
I like down to Earth people with an interest of exploring humanity and the universe at once. Our current lives are much too short and our bodies much too fragile to ever be down over things like bad feelings among friends, money and temporary problems. My goal in life is to own a house on the beach with a balcony so I can sit outside and read books with the ocean filling my head.
I sometimes say I'm a pragmatic libertarian socialist. Or an anarchist in the conservative sense of the word...I challenge all forms of authority and only recognize those that I find are just and legitimate. I advocate giving power directly to the people who have earned it, with no bureaucratic government or social authority figure in the way to dish it out in self serving terms. I believe the government has no business being involved in 90% of what it does currently, but at the same time fully accept that fact that sometimes government based solutions are the best for all people involved. I'm a hard determinist who doesn't believe in any the concept of free will. Or time.

If what Billy Pilgrim learned from the Tralfamadorians is true, that we will all live forever, no matter how dead we may sometimes seem to be, I am not overjoyed. Still - if I am going to spend eternity visiting this moment and that, I'm grateful that so many of those moments are nice.
